Pump Instruction, Warranty and Troubleshooting Guide

Thank you for purchasing your new Pond & Waterfall or Fountain Pump from us. Our goal is for every client to have the best experience with their new pond equipment.

Read the following operating guidelines, pump instructions and troubleshooting guide listed below. Please call or email us with any questions you may have.

Operation Instruction Guide:

• Read the owner’s manual that comes with your pump. Note the Warranty Period.

• Warranty Period= Original Purchase Date. Your Warranty starts upon the original day of purchase. If you receive a warranty pump replacement this does not restart the warranty period.

•Always operate the pump fully submerged; or if using in-line ensure a constant source of fresh water and that it is operating below water level. Failure to do so may overheat the pump and cause it to fail, voiding the warranty.

•Keep Pump Intake Free & Clear of Debris. Use only in fully assembled state, paying particular attention to ensure that intake filter screens are continuously free of debris so pump is always unobstructed.

•  Keep clear of suction & discharge openings. DO NOT insert fingers in pump with power connected.

• Monitor Flow Rates as needed. Do not pump hazardous materials or liquids other than water, such as oil or organic solvents.  Do not block or restrict discharge.

 • Keep Pump Plug Dry. It should be plugged directly into a grounded outlet. Extension cords should be avoided and may invalidate a warranty. DO NOT CUT the CORD, keep plug attached.

• Ensure there is proper Voltage to power the pump.

•Most pumps are meant to be used continuously  24-7. If you decide to shut down your water feature during winter months, remove pump to avoid freezing the internal parts and seals. Overwinter in a frost free area in a bucket of water.

Troubleshooting Tips:

• Reduced Water Flow – Pump or plumbing may be clogged. It may be necessary to clean the filter screens and impeller. Monitor Flow Rates as needed.

• Pump Hums and Doesn’t Push Water – Pump or plumbing may be clogged. It may be necessary to clean the filter screens and impeller. – Remove the water chamber cover and inspect and clean the impeller rotor assembly and internal pump body. – Make sure nothing is blocking or wrapped around the impeller.

• Pump Over Heating- Popping the Breaker. This occurs when the pump does not have adequate water flowing through it, usually due to a blockage or pond leak. Undersized pumps can also fail if they work too hard pumping water.

• Pump Not Working – The ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI) may have tripped. – The pump is not receiving the correct voltage. When pumps start to fail they will often trip the breaker. If this happens, unplug the pump and plug in a different device like a hair dryer to test the outlet (or use a voltage meter).

If you are having problems with your pump – please contact us, we can help you troubleshoot issues. We do need the pump core and proof of purchase to validate the warranty process. The return process could possibly take 2-3 days.
